Ali Asghar

Ali has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, private equity and management. Currently, he is the Chief Operating Officer of elseco limited, a specialty insurance underwriting platform focused on space, aviation and energy, with offices in Dubai, Paris, London and Washington DC. elseco underwrites on behalf of more than 60 insurance and reinsurance companies including Lloyd’s syndicates.

Previously, Ali established and headed the Dubai office for Lazard, a publicly traded investment bank headquartered in New York, where he led a number of M&A, debt advisory and fund-raising transactions in the Middle East region.

Prior to Lazard, Ali was with Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) and Time Warner. He started his career at McKinsey & Co and subsequently worked at Warburg Pincus and Morgan Stanley, all in New York City.

Ali is the Founding Director of the Harvard Business School Club of the GCC.
